OFED 1.4-beta1 on IA64 (actually this is Ubuntu 8.04 server on IA64) in the office. I need a machine to act as a source/sink for IB for some testing.
root@itanic:~# uname -a Linux itanic 2.6.24-19-mckinley #1 SMP Thu Aug 21 01:16:49 UTC 2008 ia64 GNU/Linux root@itanic:~# ifconfig ib1 ib1 Link encap:UNSPEC HWaddr 80-00-04-05-FE-80-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00 inet addr:192.168.11.239 Bcast:192.168.11.255 Mask:255.255.255.0 inet6 addr: fe80::208:f104:396:3d36/64 Scope:Link UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:2044 Metric:1 RX packets:10 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:12 errors:0 dropped:10 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:128 RX bytes:728 (728.0 B) TX bytes:904 (904.0 B)
What I want to emphasize is that building OFED on this was … painful. Building OFED on Ubuntu is possible (and we have it and can do it) for x86_64 (and possibly for x86 if absolutely needed).
Of course some things just don’t work on this.
This was the latest model IA64 distribution I could find anywhere. I tried FC8 but the yum update site was no longer accepting connections (site was at HP!).
This is an Itanium2 unit

Older, used for some testing bits, traffic generation and other things.
Has a beautiful nVidia AGP-pro graphics card in it. And no nVidia drivers for it will (ever) likely be forthcoming again. Running in text mode.
