We're baaaaack ....
Ok, that was a fun 4-ish month hiatus. Let me give you the TL;DR.
This blog (currently, not for much longer) uses Ghost as a platform. Ghost recommends frequent updates, because, well, nodejs and security have a strained relationship.
A recent upgrade screwed up the database. Ghost couldn't start cleanly. I spent a long time trying to diagnose and repair this.
Finally called in my personal Claude agent and account. Migrated from MariaDB to an older (supported and required by Ghost) MySQL. Took Claude, I dunno, 20 minutes to fix working with me.
So we are back. Which is important, as I've been really wanting to do more technical writing.
But longer term, Ghost is in serious need of replacement. An update that nukes a database, that you can't roll back? Very much not cool. Difficult to trust a platform that can't do basic stuff right.
